    Ms. Rae Logsdon Barnes, age 93, died February 28, 2014 in Hot Springs, AR. She was born on April 30, 1920 to Val E. Sutton and Lura E. Rickard in New Madrid, MO. She was a Women’s Army Service Pilot for six years, including WWII, ferrying pilots and planes between the U.S. and Europe. She also served on the National American Cross Board and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. For most of her career, Ms. Barnes was an insurance agent. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone she came in contact with.
    Survivors:
    Children: John Logsdon, Terry Logsdon, Barbara Logsdon and Dale Logsdon
    Step Sons: Bill Barnes of Mt. Ida, AR and John Barnes of Clinton, TN
    3 Step Grandchildren and 5 Step Great Grandchildren
    Ms. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents: Val E. Sutton and Lura E. Rickard-Sutton, daughter: LauraLogsdon, sister: Henrietta Rauth and her husbands: John Logsdon and Hal Barnes.
    She will be buried in Vahalla Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Belleville, IL. A casual memorial service will be held at Mt. Harbor Resort in Mt. Ida at a later date. A special thanks to Arkansas Hospice for their assistance in Rae’s care; and to Jan Campbell, the most wonderful caregiver in the world.
